It was near my areas of interest, which were the neighborhoods of Barra and Graça. Not near the historical centre though. The hotel area is quiet and safe at night. The breakfast was good.
Great design and atmosphere and very stylish. Pool area is wonderful though service there can take time but who really cares?
However, the best part of my visit was the staff. Luis the front desk receptionist is a lovely man who was incredibly helpful, genuine and went out of his way to make me feel welcome.

This is a small boutique hotel located next to the Praça da Sé, a popular square in the heart of Pelourinho.
Some staff speak English. Ocean view rooms have unbelievably spectaculor views. Public beaches are walking distance. The beds are very comfortable and the bathroom we had was huge with a huge glass wall shower. The airconditioning works excellently. Right now for those on the US dollar, because of the exchange rate, the prices are an unbelievable value. The free breakfast contains many delicious foods and many choices. Room service is fast and all food is of high quality. I strongly recommend this hotel.

The Villa da Praia Hotel offers bright accommodations and a large swimming pool on the seafront of Itapuã, a beautiful beach which is ideal for practicing windsurf and kitesurf. The facilities and location were incredible!

This 19th century colonial mansion is located in Pelourinho, facing BaÃa do Todos ESTES Santos Bay. I stayed for seven nights during Copa America and highly recommend Casa do Amerilindo. The area of Pelourinho is small but the hotel is in a very safe location. The room and decor was very nice and the bathroom has a wonderful rain shower.
